Sega Europe Selects CyberSource® to Process and Protect eCommerce Transactions for its Dreamcast™ Dreamshop and Dreamarena Site

CyberSource Provides Dreamcast Customers with a Quick, Easy and Safe Online Shopping Experience

Mountain View, Calif. September 27, 2000
CyberSource Corporation (Nasdaq: CYBS), a leading provider of mission-critical eCommerce transaction services, today announced Sega Europe will use the CyberSource Payment Services and Internet Fraud Screen for its European Dreamshop (www.dreamcast-europe.com) and Internet portal, Dreamarena.

To further establish the Dreamcast sites as leading online gameplayers' marketplaces, the CyberSource Payment Services, part of the CyberSource eCommerce Transaction Suite™, will provide Dreamcast customers with fast, convenient and safe payment services. The Dreamshop sells the Dreamcast console, games and accessories and is open to all Internet users. The Dreamarena site, however, is exclusively available to Dreamcast owners who can access the site through their game console.

The CyberSource Internet Fraud Screen will help protect Sega Europe's online services against the possibility of fraudulent credit card transactions by analyzing risk factors, many of them unique to Internet commerce, and producing a relative risk score. The range of customer service tools available in the CyberSource Internet Fraud Screen will enable Sega Europe to make rapid and informed risk management decisions on the risk of fraud associated with a transaction. This will significantly maximize the number of good orders Sega Europe accepts while protecting their business against the possibility of lost revenue due to fraud and the resulting chargebacks.

"We want to provide our new customers and established users of Dreamcast with an Internet shopping experience that is quick, safe and convenient," said Joost Vreeswijk, business development director for Dreamarena Ltd. "By implementing CyberSource's eCommerce transaction services we believe we have found the ideal solution to enable us to do so."

Neil Cook, managing director of CyberSource's UK office, comments, "We have developed a scaleable, back-end infrastructure that allows Sega Europe and its customers to buy and sell the latest products online, in the sound knowledge that the CyberSource market proven Internet Fraud Screen can reduce fraud to less than one percent."

CyberSource provides businesses selling online with a comprehensive suite of eCommerce transaction services* available on an 'a la carte', 'pay as you grow' basis. Businesses of all types can easily implement the company's back-end eCommerce transaction services as an outsourced solution or as part of a blended approach using a combination of both in-house managed software and outsourced services. The CyberSource eCommerce Transaction Suite includes Payment Services, Tax Services, Risk Management Services, Fulfillment Management Services, and Stored Value Services.

*Some of the services may not be available or applicable outside the United States. CyberSource Internet Fraud Screen enhanced by Visa is available only to businesses within the U.S. CyberSource Internet Fraud Screen is available to businesses outside of the U.S.

About Dreamcast
Dreamcast, already named one of the "Hot Products of 2000" by Business Week Magazine and "Machine of the Year" by TIME Digital, features an advanced architecture that is designed to evolve and grow with advances in technology and the changing needs of the consumer market. Dreamcast is the only online gaming console.

Dreamcast is built atop a 200 MHz Hitachi SH-4 CPU and the NEC PowerVR 2DC 3D graphics chip, the most powerful 3D technology ever developed for a console system. The Hitachi SH-4 gives Dreamcast 15 times the power of a Sony PlayStation, 10 times the power of a Nintendo 64 and four times the graphics processing power of the fastest Pentium 2 processor.

Dreamcast is also the first console to enter the market with Internet capabilities. Its built-in modem ensures full Internet functionality including chat, e-mail and web browsing through Dreamarena, an online gaming portal accessible only through Dreamcast. Sega has already introduced full online capabilities for its system.

British Telecommunications plc (BT) is the Internet Service provider (ISP) for Dreamcast and provides subscription-free Internet access for Dreamcast users in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Ireland and very soon across the rest of Europe.

In addition to being the most powerful console on the market and the first to offer online features at launch, Dreamcast is the first to utilize hand-held gaming through its Visual Memory unit (VM), which allows players to swap games with friends in the home, arcade or head-to-head using two VM's.
