New Client (API) Upgrade - Includes Required Payment Security (PCI) Features

Compliance with the PCI security regulations is required for all online merchants, per card association mandates and your CyberSource services agreement. CyberSource has recently released an upgrade to your payments client (API) that includes necessary security features.
Payment Processing Client Upgrade Features
This upgrade provides you with important features to help you achieve and maintain PCI certification. Specifically, this upgraded client will mask secure data in all appropriate fields.
Visa and MasterCard require all merchants to be Payment Card Industry (PCI) security compliant as of June 2005. CyberSource is committed to providing the tools needed to meet the Visa/MC rules, and this upgrade is an important step in the process. Failure to meet the Visa/MasterCard PCI regulations can result in significant financial penalties from the card associations. View the Visa requirements.

MANDATORY UPGRADE
All impacted CyberSource merchants are required to complete this upgrade by
March 31, 2007.

Deadlines / Support Policy
CyberSource requires all customers to provide proper security for sensitive information. Beginning on March 31, 2007, our development staff will no longer issue bug fixes or enhancements for client versions prior to this latest update, because those versions do not meet minimum industry standards for data security.
Who is Impacted
All merchants who use the API and currently have a client installed will need to upgrade to the newest version of their client (see download link below). If you process all of your transactions through the CyberSource Business Center or the Hosted Order Page (HOP), then you do not use the client and are not impacted by this upgrade.
