Server Release Notes for May 25, 2010
These release notes apply to the ICS test and production servers.
New Features for Debit Cards and Prepaid Cards on Chase Paymentech Solutions and TSYS Acquiring Solutions
CyberSource added support for the following features:
- Partial authorizations: When the balance on a debit card or prepaid card is less than the requested authorization amount, the issuing bank can approve a partial amount. When this happens, you can accept multiple forms of payment for the order starting with some or all of the approved amount followed by one or more different payment methods.
- Balance responses: If there is a balance remaining on a prepaid card after an authorization, the authorization reply can include the balance amount if your processor sends that data to CyberSource.
For an overview of these updates, see FAQs - Partial Approval, Authorization Reversal and Balance Response Compliance Requirements. For an introduction to the API updates, see Partial Authorizations. Depending on which API you are using, see Credit Card Services for the Simple Order API or Credit Card Services for the SCMP API.
New Reply Fields for Decision Manager Device Fingerprinting
Values for the true IP city and true IP country were added to the Device Fingerprint reply fields and Rule Builder:
- Simple Order API: The field names are deviceFingerprint_trueIPAddressCity and deviceFingerprint_trueIPAddressCountry.
- SCMP API: The field names are score_device_fingerprint_true_ipaddress_city and score_device_fingerprint_true_ipaddress_country.
These new values allow you to identify inconsistencies by comparing the true IP address geolocation with the customer geolocation. For details about the API fields, see the Decision Manager Developer's Guide.
Simple Order API
Versions 1.52 and 1.53 of the Simple Order API have been released. For information about what has changed, see the Simple Order API Release Notes.
