This large beverage company established itself as one of the world’s best-known brands through the iconic marketing of their vending machines. Nowadays, people expect vending machines to accept whatever digital payment method they personally prefer to use. So how could the Company keep their vending solutions across Australia and New Zealand up to speed without continuous updates to the payment points themselves?

Cybersource solution

Allowing customers to pay their way

Our solution combined two Cybersource services, Card Present Connect, and Visa Platform Connect. This provided a single connection into a rich payment ecosystem that allowed the Company machines to accept credit cards, debit cards, and digital payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. We updated 13,000 vending machines, which have since taken over four million successful transactions.

Updating payment methods remotely

Another big benefit of our solution is it enables the Company to add new payment methods remotely – direct or via Visa Platform Connect – without updating hardware at the vending machines. This has huge global potential and gives the Company the confidence that no matter what new payment methods are introduced in the future, their vending machines will be ready.
