Here is the information that you will need to help you “go live” faster and easier!
To log in to the EBC, please go to https://ebc.cybersource.com/. You will need to log-in with your Merchant ID (MID), Contact Email and Merchant Passphrase that you created during your Evaluation Account set-up.
You must “go live” with CyberSource before you can begin accepting production transactions and receive funding.
Setting up your merchant bank account is often the most difficult task you will undertake. Setting up a merchant bank account to handle Internet transactions is a complete process and numerous obstacles must be overcome before your account can actually process transactions. Some banks may not be familiar with Internet Commerce and could require more time to establish your account.
Note: Accounts will be taken live during business hours. Turnaround will vary based on the CyberSource services and Processors involved, however many requests can be managed within one business day. CyberSource Customer Support will clarify whether further information is needed, or if the request would take over one business day to process. Our recommendation is to submit your go-live request at least 2 business days prior to wanting to process live transactions to ensure the account is setup.
If you have elected to use CyberSource Decision Manager, you will need to establish a process for handling potentially fraudulent transactions based on the information sent back to you from CyberSource.
Before you can begin using Decision Manager and setting up your rules, you must ensure the following has occurred:
Fraud on the Internet should not be taken lightly. CyberSource's Fraud service is
a scoring system used by merchants to detect high risk transactions. This system
relies on a score determined by you. The higher the score that you allow, the
greater the risk.
It is critical that you assess your risk. Consider these questions when
establishing your fraud settings:
• What is the price of your product(s)?
If the product is expensive, you would be better off declining even marginal
orders (by lowering the allowed score).
• What are your customer service capabilities?
If your score is too low that will decline valid orders and you will receive more
• What is the level of risk you are willing to accept?
The more risk you accept, the higher volume of orders you process; however, you
may have more fraudulent orders. A higher score setting will result in a greater
quantity of charge backs and, therefore, an increase to your discount rate -
which is money out of your pocket - and the possible loss of your merchant
CyberSource Decision Manager defaults to a specific score threshold. If you're
like most of our merchants, you'll learn more during your first week live than
through the entire setup period. Your customers and product mix will ultimately
determine how you customize your settings.
