Server Release Notes for June 30, 2004

Simple Order API (formerly the Web Servies API)

The CyberSource Web Services API is now called the Simple Order API in the CyberSource documentation. You may, however, still see references to the Web Services API in some of the documents.

Version 1.9 of the Simple Order API has been released. For information about what has changed, see the Simple Order API Release Notes, which are available on the Support Center.

General: Using a Grand Total

For the ICS services in which payment processing is involved (credit cards, electronic checks, Global Payment, Recurring Billing), you may now provide a grand total amount for the order without having to specify the amounts for the individual products.

For the Simple Order API (previously known as the Web Services API), the new field to use is purchaseTotals_grandTotalAmount. For the SCMP API, the field to use is grand_total_amount.

You may use the grand total field instead of or in addition to the item-level information that you typically provide in a request. If you use this field, CyberSource uses its value instead of calculating the order total based on the item-level information.

For more details about how to use the grand total field, see the Credit Card Services Implementation Guide, which is available on the Support Center.

Credit Card Services

For merchants using Vital, you can now use the Card Verification Number (CVN) check with Diners Club cards. For more information about the Card Verification Number, see the Credit Card Services Implementation Guide, which is available on the Support Center.

Electronic Check Services

For merchants using TeleCheck, if you process a corporate electronic check, you now must provide either the driver's license information or the company's name and tax identifier with your request.

For the Simple Order API (previously known as the Web Services API), you must provide:

  • both billTo_driversLicenseNumber and billTo_driversLicenseState
  • or both billTo_company and billTo_companyTaxID

For the SCMP API, you must provide:

  • both driver_license_no and driver_license_state
  • or both company_name and bill_company_tax_id

For more information about these fields, see the Electronic Check Services Implementation Guide, which is available on the Support Center.

Global Payment Service

If you are processing JCB cards with the Global Payment Service: The JCB card is now an online card instead of an offline card. For more information about the differences between the two, see the Global Payment Service Planning Guide, which is available on the Support Center.
