Riders can now use their card, mobile phone, or smartwatch to tap and ride at the kiosks instead of having to wait in line to buy a token or paper ticket. Available at 56 metro stations across four routes, passengers will be able to pay quicker than ever before. Whether it’s stopping for a visit at the Jardim Zoológico, or going shopping at Avenida da Liberdade, riders could spend less time in line at the station and more time enjoying their journey.
And they no longer need to plan ahead to calculate the best value ticket in advance. With tap and ride, riders are only charged the most advantageous fare.
